Gerard Payne has 36 years of highly successful agency practice behind him, covering most aspects of the real estate business including property marketing, management, sales and valuation. In 1982, Gerard became the NSW’s Youngest Licensed Practitioner and in 1986 became a Registered Valuer (all property, without limitation). Along with a string of other training courses and accolades, he also has completed his Diploma of Business (Valuation) in 1985.
Gerard commenced his property career in a family agency alongside his parents within the coastal town of Shellharbour located in the Illawarra.
Late 1985, Gerard became the Director of Payne’s Real Estate offering agency practice services to the local community. These services included: residential, industrial, commercial and rural property sales. He also conducted general auctions, marketed and negotiated business sales, general property management and operated a strata management register of 87 strata plans.
During 1991 after enjoying the property boom of ‘April 87 to November 88’ and working through the ‘recession we had to have’, the independent family agency were offered the L J Hooker Shellharbour franchise. This offered contacts throughout Australia and access to national branding, leading industry training, education and the opportunity to share ideas and management practices amongst the leading LJ Hooker offices. Gerard was awarded membership to the prestigious L J Hooker Captains Club within the first 12 months.
In May 2000, Gerard was offered a contract sales agent role with Lend Lease at the now completed and world famous Jacksons Landing development on the old CSR site here at Pyrmont, Sydney.
In December 2002, Gerard and fellow Director Stephen Whyte opened the doors of Raine & Horne City Living, located at Jacksons Landing. The agency focuses on high-end sales and premium property management services.
In April 2014, after 11 successful years of agency practice with Raine & Horne, the opportunity arose to sell the business they had built together.
From 2002 until April 2014 as the Director of Raine & Horne City Living, Gerard’s high level of expertise and success has been recognized with several industry awards, including the Raine & Horne Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Property Management Team and the Raine & Horne ‘Multi-Million Dollar Club’ in sales.
